Texting. Can’t live with it. Can’t live without it. There’s no denying that technology has really changed the game when it comes to communication and relationships. You are now able to stay in contact with your partner 24/7 even when you’re far away from one another. And you shouldn’t be so naive so as to think that texting isn’t a social skill that you really have to develop if you want to be seen as someone who is likable and attractive. There are many facets that go into making a relationship; that go into getting a guy to like you – and you have to understand that the manner in which you text him has a lot to do with that.
Don’t be so naïve so as to think that you can just text him however you want and you’ll always be yielding positive results. Life doesn’t work like that. Relationships don’t work like that. You have to be able to rid yourself of some pretty bad texting habits if you really want to put yourself in the best possible position to make things work with him. You never know. You might actually be guilty of doing a lot of bad texting habits which are making you less and less desirable in the eyes of your man.
That’s why you need to maintain a certain sense of self-awareness if you want to make sure that you aren’t completely driving away the people you want to get close to. And if you’re completely clueless as to what proper texting should look like, then this article is for you. Here are a few texting habits that you really need to break if you want to keep him interested in you.
1. You Deliberately Wait Too Long Before You Text Him Back.
Don’t play that game with him. He’s going to be able to tell. If you’re free to respond to his message, then do so. Don’t be playing hard-to-get with him. That kind of technique doesn’t work anymore.
2. You Overdo It With The Emojis Instead Of Giving Real Responses.
Just because the emojis are there doesn’t mean that you should use them ALL OF THE TIME. Learn to communicate through words and sentences. Let emojis enhance the conversation; don’t let them be the subject of it.
3. You Don’t Acknowledge Him When He Compliments You.
He’s complimenting you. He’s making himself vulnerable to you. He’s showing you that he has an admiration for you; and you should be kind enough to acknowledge it. Don’t just snub over it like some kind of insignificant lament.
4. You Over-text Him Whenever He Doesn’t Reply To You Right Away.
Don’t panic if he doesn’t reply to you right away. It doesn’t automatically mean that he’s lost interest. You have to consider the very real possibility that he’s just been busy with handling other matters in his life.
5. You Text Him Even When You Know He’s Busy.
This is in connection to the previous item on this list. If he isn’t replying to you right away, it’s probably because he’s preoccupied with other things. And when you know that he’s busy, you shouldn’t pester him. Let him do his thing.
6. You Don’t Make An Effort To Text Him As Much As He Texts You.
If he’s texting you a lot, then at least return the favor. Be the one who texts him and reaches out to him every once in a while. You shouldn’t just always be waiting for him to make the first move. Express your interest.
7. You Use Poor Grammar And Spelling When You Text Him.
Always make sure that you use proper grammar and spelling when you are texting with him. You don’t necessarily have to write like Hemingway; but you have to show that you at least went to school and learned the basics of English communication.
8. You Text Him In All Capital Letters.
CAN YOU NOT SEE JUST HOW ANNOYING IT IS TO BE TEXTING SOMEONE LIKE THIS? IT KIND OF SOUNDS LIKE YOU’RE JUST YELLING AND ANGRY ALL OF THE TIME. IT’S NOT A NICE WAY TO TEXT ANOTHER PERSON – AND YOU SHOULDN’T REALLY BE EXPECTING A REPLY IF YOU CONTINUE TO TEXT LIKE THIS
9. You Overshare Whenever You Text With Him.
This is only really an issue when you’re just starting to get to know one another. You shouldn’t be too overeager to share intimate aspects of your life when you’re just starting out – especially when it comes to the grossest parts of your life.
10. You Break Up A Single Text Message Into Multiple Ones.
What’s the point of doing this? You are only putting more effort into something that is so annoying? I would be better for you to just confine your entire message into a single message bubble. It can be annoying when you. start. to. type. this. with. your. messages
